Welcomed Back to the Glen
A belted kingfisher welcomed Ann and me back to Rickett’s Glen State Park in NE Pennsylvania Saturday.
We spent four hours hiking by 22 named waterfalls, which I have never seen run so dramatically. Run-off from the recent hurricane and prior soakings were still impacting this dramatic geologic and natural setting.
The morning hike and my 45th high school reunion (Dallas High School, Dallas, PA) that same evening made for a good night’s sleep Saturday, into Sunday.
I made the same hike the morning of my 35th reunion.
Ann and I made it once between those outings, with brother and sister-in-law (Gary & Fran).
NE Pennsylvania had many downed trees and thousands were still without electricity during the long weekend.

Russ,
Did not know that Pennsylvania even had 22 waterfalls.
Just how far was the hike that you made?
Hope all is well.

Best guess is just five or six miles. It is very steep and it was slippery...and we are not as young as we used to be!
