Oldest Zoo
NC Zoo Society life member Bob Sebrosky asked me yesterday, at the Director's Guild (one of the life member clubs) picnic gathering, if I knew which zoo is the oldest.
I could only guess it was a German Zoo.
Wrong. Bob had the answer from an internet search later in the day and sent it by e-mail. Vienna Zoo, since 1752!
The source of Bob's answer tells us that the London Zoo, once headed by our own Director David M. Jones, is the second oldest.
